Kadar Institute
Spreading the word through the Kadar Institute
Caring for your teeth is an important routine that should begin as early as possible. And, for those having orthodontic treatment, maintaining proper techniques while at school can help the process move along smoother, and with better results.
Dr. Tom and his team believe it’s important to reach students, teachers, and others who can have a positive influence on children’s lives. The Kadar Institute was created to provide age-appropriate seminars on proper oral care and the latest orthodontic technology. If you would like the Kadar Institute to visit your school, call Diane at ext. 251. |

The Kadar Institute gives local schools lessons on healthy smiles.
Educating patients about good oral health has always been an important part
of our service. Dr. Kadar and his team of professionals have now extended
their service to local schools by providing an exciting new educational
program for Grades 1-8.
On March 9th, our program was launched at the Hurffville Elementary
School with groups of 25 children moving through four informational and
entertaining stations.
At Station I they were shown comparisons between animal and human teeth,
how each functions and the names of the various human teeth. Finally, they
were instructed on the importance of good diet and home care.
Station II reviewed care of the teeth as the main subject. Proper
brushing techniques, how to floss effectively and the importance of setting
definite times each day for cleaning their teeth were all highlighted.
Station III covered habits that are harmful to their teeth and can affect
development. These included thumb or finger sucking, nail biting, and even
ice chewing. The older children reviewed the negative affects of oral
piercing, tobacco and eating disorders on teeth and oral health. Again, a
good diet and cleaning of the teeth were emphasized.
At Station IV, students were introduced to Orthodontics and how "bites"
can be effectively corrected through braces. The result being a beautiful,
winning smile for the rest of their life.
