Scholarship Requirements

Kadar Orthodontics Scholarship Program
In recognition of student achievers as they continue their education after high school.

Kadar Scholarships
Kadar Orthodontics awards two scholarships to applicants who meet eligibility criteria. Currently valued at $500 each, a Kadar scholarship is presented annually to one male and one female applicant.

Eligibility
Applicants must be 1) current/former patients of Dr. Thomas P. Kadar and 2) seniors enrolled in high school with documented plans to attend a technical school or a two- or four-year college.

Criteria
The scholarships will be awarded to individuals based on their academic and extracurricular achievements during their high school careers as documented by transcripts and reports. Special consideration will be given to students who also have demonstrated civic pride through their volunteerism and/or community service.

Committee
Kadar's scholarship committee consists of up to six educators, community and business leaders. One member will receive and track applications, remove any references to the applicant's identity on the application before they are presented to the rest of the committee, record the votes and present the results back to the entire committee. A scholarship candidate's relative cannot be part of the selection process.

Applications
Scholarship candidates are required to complete and sign the application for and submit it with the following documents: 1) student resume; 2) a brief statement of the applicant's career goal; 3) current grade transcript or class schedule; 4) an essay; 5) recommendations from two teachers and 6) verification of acceptance at a college or technical school, (copy of acceptance letter, paid deposit or proof of matriculation). Information must be truthful and accurate; applicants will be disqualified if any discrepancies are found.

The 2008 scholarships have been determined. Apply for next years scholorship in March of 2009.
